Help us COMPLETE our 8+ Fleet through 2020 & Beyond!

Why do we need to complete our fleet of big boats?

Nashville Rowing, right now, has a complete fleet of fours (4+) shells, as those were our main capital equipment focus for the first 2-3 years since we mostly raced those events. Only in the last year to year-and-half, with the growth of both our Adult and Juniors programs, has our need to shore up our larger boats (8+) become a priority. Since August 2013, our Juniors program has grown to over 100 athletes coming through our "doors" annually, and our Adult programs have grown to include over 70 participants. Right now, as is, our fleet of eights does not meet the high standards of our members' daily effort. We have a few niche-sized boats that fit specific lineups within our programs (purposefully), but a majority of our club uses boats that are more than 20 years old. Although we love the AMDG and the Rocket, the intensity with which you all attack your practices, preparations, and races deserves equipment that is up to your standards. With the purchase of three eights (and possibly one small boat) on top of the three good eights we already own, we can ensure that all six big boats are capable of handling our membership for the next 5+ years. From there, with a complete fours and eights fleet, we can move forward on our capital equipment plan to focus on small boats. The timing right now is due to the influx of interest from boat manufacturers in partnering with Nashville Rowing...

Why do we need to buy these boats RIGHT NOW?

Nashville Rowing is in a unique position because we are gaining more and more attention in the rowing world due to our quick rise in speed and expansive growth. With that in mind, the boat makers have a vested interest in making sure we race in their equipment. As one boat rep told us: "Nashville boats are going to be in a lot of finals and we want you in our shells." The singular position we are in is something we want to take advantage of, as it may not come again. We have been offered the following boats for $67,000 total (a savings of over $30,000 if we wanted to buy the shells later) which was the best offer from any of the companies:

What is the timeline on this purchase?

The boat quote we have from Wintech is good through February 28th, but all we need to do to feel secure in the remainder of our fundraising is to have over $30,000 worth of pledged donations by that date. At this point, on Monday February 20th, we already have over $17,500 raised! We understand that not all families and members have the same ability to donate but if we can count on larger donations to get us above the 50% mark then each family could donate ONLY $247 to get us to the total needed. If you can donate above that amount, then we do appreciate your extensive support.

How may I pledge or donate?
