June 21-22, 2014 (Aiken, SC) – Nashville Masters Rowing competed at the USRowing Southeast Masters Regionals with sights set high, and came away successful. Our Masters Competitive Program entered 14 entries across many events throughout Saturday (Sweep) and Sunday (Sculling) with the following results:

  • 1st in the Men’s Masters 4+ (A-C)
  • 2nd in the Mixed Masters 8+ (E)
  • 2nd in the Men’s Masters 8+ (C-D)
  • 2nd in the Mixed Masters 2x (F)
  • 3rd in the Mixed Masters 4x (E-F)
  • 3rd in the Women’s Masters 8+ (A-C)
  • 3rd in the Mixed Masters 8+ (B)
  • 3rd in the Women’s Masters 4x (E)
  • 3rd in the Men’s Masters 4x (AA-C)
  • 4th in the Men’s Masters 4+ (D-F)
  • 4th in the Parent/Child 2x (with Juniors rower Eden Norris!)
  • 5th in the Women’s Masters 4+ (A-B)
  • 6th in the Mixed Masters 2x (E)

Not only was this Southeast Regionals a great opportunity for our Masters to row in multiple races – with a few athletes racing as much as 5-6 times over the two days – but it also showcased our idea that we are “One Family Pulling Together” as the Parent/Child 2x was made up of Masters rower, Brad Norris, and his daughter, Eden, who rowed this past Spring in our Nashville Juniors Girls Varsity 4+.
