2015-16 Year in Review

The 2015-16 Year saw massive continued growth for the Nashville Rowing family as we brought in more participants than ever, and took another school under our umbrella - Harpeth Hall. Our organization grew to membership of over 70 adult members, 38 youth members, 3 employee members, 4 student members, 12 family members (a new class of membership!) and over 170 program participants. We updated our Policy Manual again, and continued to update our non-profit governance set up to best serve the greater Middle Tennessee area.

The Juniors program, in it's third year, built on the successes of 2014-15 by competing at a high level at more national competitions such as earning a return bids at the Head of the Charles and the Head of the Hooch, placing multiple athletes in the top 20 at Crash-Bs, earning medals at USRowing Southeast Regionals, having three boats compete at USRowing Youth Nationals (with the pair placing 5th nationally!), and sending multiple athletes to row on scholarship in college. Also, in the summer of 2016, we have five juniors athletes rowing at different levels of the Junior National Team Camps. Abigail Tarquinio (St. Cecilia, class of 2017) continued her streak of international success by earning Bronze at World Junior Championships in the USA Women's 4-.

The Adult program, continued to flourish with more participants and diverse programming on the water, earning 6 medals at the 2016 Dogwood Masters Classic, and 13 medals at USRowing Southeast Regionals. We are excited for the larger, more balanced programming across sweep and sculling, as the future is bright for our Masters!

2014-15 Year in Review

The 2014-15 Year was a busy and successful one across the board for Nashville Rowing. Our organization grew to membership of over 79 adult members, 35 youth members, and over 150 program participants - the largest Nashville Rowing had been to date. We updated our Policy Manual, put Code Conducts in place, and continued to update our non-profit governance set up to best serve the greater Middle Tennessee area, and also added Brentwood High School as a scholastic program.

The Juniors program, in it's second year, built on it's quick successes by competing at more national level regattas such as the Head of the Charles, Crash-Bs, and Youth Nationals. Of the 6 boats we brought to Southeast Regionals, 4 earned spots in the finals and three took home medals (two Golds!). The Women's Youth 4+ earned 10th at Youth Nationals. Abigail Tarquinio (St. Cecilia, class of 2017) went on to earn Bronze at World Junior Championships in the USA Women's 8+ and Aine McGinn (St. Cecilia, class of 2016) went on to earn two Golds for the USA Women at the CanAmMex Regatta against Canada and Mexico.

The Adult program, beginning to flourish with more participants than ever, also saw great successes on the water, with 8 medals at the 2015 Dogwood Regatta, 15 medals at USRowing Southeast Regionals, and Lizabeth Theiss earning Bronze at 2014 Masters Nationals. We had more boats competing in races than ever before and the group effort paid off as all our adults came away with usable race experience.
